Choosing for the island

Ibiza's runway takes everything from turboprops to large cabin jets. What usually decides the aircraft is your group, your bags and how the trip handles peak-week parking.

  • Business jet climbing away past street lights

    Light jet

Fast and economical on the two-hour run from London or Paris. Seats six to eight; a full cabin with summer luggage needs checking against the hold.

    • 6–8 seats
    • London about 2 h 20
  • Pink evening sky and a wingtip through a cabin window

    Turboprop

The efficient choice on short Mediterranean hops such as Nice, Madrid or Palma. From London it works, but the jets are noticeably quicker.

    • 6–9 seats
    • London about 3 h
  • Midsize jet descending through warm evening cloud

    Midsize jet

Taller cabin, an enclosed lavatory and more room for bags, which matters on the way home with a week's shopping.

    • 7–9 seats
    • London about 2 h 15
  • Dark grey super-midsize jet on a rain-washed ramp

    Super-midsize jet

A stand-up cabin and the range to reach Ibiza from almost anywhere in Europe, or the Gulf with a stop.

    • 8–10 seats
    • London about 2 h 10
  • Large cabin jet silhouetted against a setting sun

    Large cabin jet

Separate cabin areas and seats that become beds. The pick for big groups and long-haul arrivals from New York or the Gulf.

    • 10–16 seats
    • London about 2 h 10

Good to know

Three things that change the choice

Luggage. Summer trips mean bags, and sometimes kite or dive gear. Smaller jets have tight holds, so list anything bulky in the request.

Peak-week parking. In August an aircraft may drop you off and wait at another airport. A nimble light or midsize jet keeps those extra hops short and affordable.

Where the jet is based. An aircraft already based near your departure airport saves positioning time, which often matters more to the price than the class itself.
